Predictive Astrology - Astrological Knowledge Base

Explore Transits, Progressions, and Solar Returns. Understand how these three major predictive systems reveal life cycles, psychological evolution, and annual themes.

Forecasting Techniques

Transits

Transits track the continuous movement of planets in the sky as they interact with a natal chart, primarily measuring external events, environmental shifts, and the timing of life's unfolding circumstances.

If your natal chart is the landscape of your life, Transits are the dynamic weather conditions passing over it. While the mountain (your chart) remains stationary, transits determine whether it is currently sunny, storming, foggy, or experiencing a drought.

Secondary Progressions

A symbolic forecasting technique that measures internal psychological evolution and the slow unfolding of a person's character over time, distinct from the external triggers of Transits.

If Transits are the daily weather (sunny, rainy, stormy), Secondary Progressions are the Season (Winter, Spring, Summer). You might have a sunny day (beneficial Transit) in the middle of Winter (challenging Progression), but the underlying climate remains cold.

Solar Return

An annual forecasting chart calculated for the moment the Sun returns to its exact natal degree, predicting the themes, events, and areas of focus for the year ahead.

If your Natal Chart is the permanent landscape of your life, the Solar Return is the annual weather report telling you whether to prepare for a year of storms, sunshine, or cultivation in a specific region.

Solar Arc Directions

A predictive system where all planetary positions are moved forward approximately one degree per year, used primarily to identify specific, timeline-critical external life events.

If your life is a clock, Transits are the second hand constantly moving, Progressions are the hour hand moving slowly and internally, and Solar Arc Directions are the alarm bells set to ring at precise moments to announce a new schedule.
